Dr. Amity loves being a veterinarian because animals are more than just pets and she wants to make a difference in their lives and their families. She believes being a veterinarian is her purpose and allows her to advocate for animals.
Dr. Amity’s passions lie in prevention and wellness medicine. Prevention is key to creating a long and happy life for your pet. She will work with pet owners to develop the best plan for their pet while creating strong human-animal bonds. In addition, she is a Fear Free certified professional and will work to make visits as pleasant as possible.
Dr. Amity joins Underwood Animal Clinic from Norman, Oklahoma, where she worked after college for the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, after receiving her undergraduate degree in animal industries from Tarleton State University in 2004. Dr. Amity returned to school and received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from St. Matthew’s University School of Veterinary Medicine. Upon graduating in 2020, she will begin working at Underwood Animal Clinic.
When Dr. Amity isn’t treating her patients, she can be found lifting weights at the gym, joining in an acting class, or taking her dogs, Annie Oakley and Gunner, to local beaches and dog parks. A fun fact about Dr. Amity is that she enjoys running local 5Ks to help support the community.
